In the current chapter (wife assisted self study :) ), we have a pattern of (이)라고 부르다, and 기도 하다. One question asks me to translate:

People sometimes call California the Golden State. (Use 기도 하다).

(But I think they intend for both of those patterns I listed to be used).

My translation was:

사람들은 캘리포니아를 골든 스태이트 라고 부르기도 하다.

I haven't seen the two used together, and my wife is rather distracted at the moment. I would appreciate a critique of my translation.

    Both are commonly used together, no problem with your translation.:)

    사람들은 캘리포니아를 골든 스태이트 라고 부르기도 하다.
