This sentence "êtes-vous Anglais" why translate"are you English "is not "you are English ?"

    Because in english when u make a direct question the verb always comes before the subject, so if u use ''?'' u need to change, thats why its translated like that! en français 'êtes-vous anglais?''c est le memme chose que ''are you english?''
