    Overwhelm means "overcome", "overpower", "overburden", "engulf" etc or it can also be used to mean "have a strong emotional effect on".

    Eg. We will overwhelm our enemies.
    Meaning: We will overpower or overcome our enemies.

    Overwhelmed is the past tense form of overwhelm.
    Eg. She was overwhelmed with love when she saw him again.
    Meaning - She felt overpowered with love when she saw him again.

    Overwhelming is something which overwhelms you, or could also mean very large, forceful, enormous, uncontrollable, etc.

    Eg. She had overwhelming feelings of love for him.
    Meaning: She loved him uncontrollably.
