Both 'living' and 'live' can mean having life.

Is there any difference between the following two sentences? Thank you.

1 .He is a close living relative of mine.
2. He is a close live relative of mine.

    While both sentences are technically correct, the first one is the one you want to use. You will never hear a native US English speaker stating the second sentence.
