This sentence is right?

''I had a dog. It was supposed to be cool. But it wasn't''.
I mean I had a dog but I thought to have a dog it will be very cool, but it wasn't. So, this sentence is correct? I'm really on doubt about ''be supposed to'' :/

That is correct Lucas. You could also say, "I had a dog. I thought it would be cool, but it wasn't" which might sound a little more natural. But both are fine.

I think it might be written better this way: " I had a dog. It was supposed to be cool, but it wasn't. "

I think that "supposed to" is correct.
