    Sort by:

    stand up=站起来,please stand up=请站起来。
    sit down=坐下,please sit down=请坐下=请坐。
    take it=拿着它,catch it=抓住它,hold it=握着它
    stand up: 起来 ( 这个用在朋友,熟悉的人之间)
please stand up: 麻烦起来一下( 语气比较委婉,口语化, 可用于陌生人)。 正式场合就是: 请站起来。
sit down: 请坐下?可以这么说, 就是北方人会觉得不够简洁, “请坐” 就够了。
take it - hold it : 拿一下。 或者 帮我拿一下
he is holding it : 他拿着呢。

抓 or 抓住 in Chinese is more like an action which you have to be fast enough to do it.
For example, catch the opportunity/ chance 抓住这个机会; catch the thief 抓住这个小偷

As for the verb 握, it is easy to associate it with 握手 (shake hands). Similarly, it can be used in the situations where you put your hands in a hand-shaking shape.
For example, if you are holding a bottle of water, you may say i'm 握着 a bottle of water.

Therefore, 'he is holding this' can be translated into 他正拿着这个 or 他正握着这个
The former is always right, the latter depends on the shape of his hand.
