    Yes there are very many irregular verbs, although most of them are not extremely irregular.

    There are a few truly irregular verbs: http://www.dutchgrammar.com/en/?n=Verbs.Ir05 These are also among the most use verbs of the Dutch language.

    There are many (probably hundreds) of so called "strong verbs" which have a regular present tense, but differ in how the simple past or present perfect is formed. This page lists more than 200 http://www.dutchgrammar.com/en/?n=Verbs.Ir03 but it does not include more complex verbs derived from this base verb. (like "ombuigen" is derived from "buigen") Those verbs behave the same as their respective base verbs though.
