In the USA, when someone makes a positive comment about someone else's abilities or skill level, we may respond "oh, you're just saying that ( be nice) if we feel the compliment is only said out of kindness and not of a frank assessment (For example, "Your french is spectacular!" R: "lol oh, you're just saying that") It is usually said in facetious tone.
