Hebrew Question - Expression: to keep your eyes on I have a Hebrew question: Is there a Hebrew equivalent for the English expression "to keep your eyes on...", with the idea of focusing on something and not allowing anything to distract you? Examples: 1. "When you drive you must keep your eyes on the road and not be distracted." 2. "The runner only kept his eyes on the finish line for the whole race, and never looked to the side nor to the other runners." Thanks so much!!

You can use להתמקד, או להשגיח או להסתכל It's not exactly לשים לב, which is pay attention 1. כשאתה נוהג אתה צריך להסתכל מסביב ולא להרשות לדבר להסיח את דעתך That choice of words seem best for this sentence Or 1. כשאתה נוהג, אתה צריך להתמקד בכביש 2. הרץ התמקד אך ורק בקו הסיום In the second sentence you can also use להסתכל but the word I used describes it better

I think in some cases it's possible to use : לשים לב , but not always. For example: בזמן הנהיגה אתה חייב לשים לב אך ורק על הכביש. But it's interesting to see what native speakers think about it. Good luck!
