The hundred-pound whip ??? After college, I joined them, too. But for most years it was often just the two of them, my father and grandmother, at 6:30 a.m., counting money into the register. You could see them there, the short paunchy man with the circle of hair atop his head counting the big bills, and the hundred-pound whip with the ice blue eyes counting the small ones. I would like to know what does "the hundred-pound whip" mean. Thanks.

Since this is a description of the grandmother, she must be tall and thin, like a rope; or a "whip."
