Haven't heard of that before to be honest, however I did a search and this is what came up: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/be-home-and-dry http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/be+home+and+dry it seems to be a british saying/idiom which is used to imply that you've completed something successfully. examples of its usage could be: after this exam, I'll be home and dry we just need to complete this project and we'll be home and dry
