Can you help me with my pronunciation? In the following audio recording, I said a list of words shown below. ear air here hair year beer bear dear dare fear fare Can you hear these words clearly? Can you let me know in what order were they said? At the end of the audio, I said a sentence containing one of the words in the list. Is that word clear to your ear? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv3J-c1QOcE&feature=youtu.be

Order air, fear, ear, year, here, bear, beern, there, deer, fare, fear The sentence had "ear" but it would be easy to have said something else and most speakers (of any language) would substitute the expected word in such a sentence. On the whole, contrasting you to the Chinese natives that I know, your pronounciation is very good, but still does not sound like a native speaker. But you would have no trouble at all, existing in an English language country.

This is just to support Michael's response... Your pronunciation is quite good, but I can hear you forcing the words out a little. It's just a tiny amount of tension which alerts me to the fact you're non-native... and aware of it. If you relaxed a little more, you could have a very natural accent. Air, fear, hear, there and fare were OK, but all slightly off. "Fare" was probably the most inaccurate as far as pronunciation goes. The rest of the words were fine.

Listen again. air X fear ear year here X bear beer there deer fare fear The words with the X besides them, I am unsure. And comments do not format very well.
