Can 'crowd-source' be used as a verb? If you have a general question, crowd-sourcing it to Twitter is a great way to get an answer. In this sentence, I suppose that crowd-sourcing is a present participle and functioning as part of the subject of the main clause. Could you please tell me what is your opinion? Thank you.

It's actually a gerund in the sentence, but to answer your question, yes it can definitely be a verb. ;)
