How to use the word 'humble'? Jesus Christ was born in a humble stable. Here, does humble mean: 1) small and ordinary; 2) of poor condition; or 3) both are implied? I wrote a sentence. Tom has a humble income. Does it make sense to you?

For the first question, both are implied. For the second question, yes it does make sense. It means that Tom has a modest income.
