How could I translate the phrase "board position" (for games like chess or gomoku) into Chinese? How could I translate the phrase "board position" (for games like chess or gomoku) into Chinese? Mathematically, a "position" is the state of the game. So in gomoku (五子棋) the move sequence (black:K10, white:K11, black:L11) results in the same position as (b:L11, w:K11, b:K10), and (b:K10, w:K9, b:L9) results in an "equivalent" position, but (b:K10, w:L11, b:K11) results in a very different position.
