Perhaps you've just been "paying attention" to people who are not that active on this site. Or, maybe they are very active and don't have time to interact with everyone that "follows" them. There are "regulars" who are on this site daily or at least several times a week. For example, I've seen Bruce's responses before. Other people are more transient. They might just login a few times and then never come back. Others only check in a couple of times a week. I have 33 people following me. I'm actually glad that I only get messages from a few of them. There's no way I could have 33 conversations a week. It would be a full-time job. I looked at your profile and noticed that you've only asked two questions (both asking why no one pays attention to you). You haven't posted any Notebook Entries. If you want people to interact with you, you need to be proactive and take the first step. Ask Questions here, either about the language you want to learn or about life in another country. Put up samples of your writing in the Notebook section. Join in or start a discussion in the Discussions section. If you see a response from someone you'd like to converse with, "follow" them. If they follow you back, send them a message and initiate a conversation. If you like, you can follow me but it won't do you any good unless you send me messages because I don't make any effort to start conversations just to have a conversation. I only message people when I have a specific question or if I am responding to a message from them.
