The Commonwealth I know that the Commonwealth is a international association that joins countries with English culture, but what are the origin of this word? In Spanish it would be: común-riqueza.

The origin of the word 'commonwealth' is late-Middle English. Used then as two separate words, common + wealth. The old meaning being "The general good" or denoting public welfare.
