to sb vs for sb Hello, everyone !!! The cultivation of a hobby and new forms of interest is therefore a policy of the first importance to a public man . What's the different meaning if I use " for" but not "to" in this sentence!! Thanks in advance : D

They are almost the same. With "for" it implies that "the public man" is setting the policy, but with "to" it implies that someone else may be setting the policy.
