Hi Shira. There's a difference between these two verbs: פ.ת.ה which means "to tempt"
& פ.ת.ל which is indeed, to curve/twist etc...
In this context though, the only possible meaning is not to be tempted (stray from a moral road) or "not to twist/curve a straight moral road", hence your confusion.
Since the Torah speaks about morality standards, this is probably the case
