I dont understand what do you mean. Howerver with googletranslate I can understand your question a little.
In vietnamese, word could be single word or compund word. 
Ex:
-single word( từ đơn): nếu (if), chậm (slow) , nhà ( house), kính ( glass)...
-compound word( từ ghép): áp dụng (apply), biện pháp ( solution, method), tích cực( positive), nhà kính ( glasshouse, greenhouse)

For your reference, old Vietnamese texts used to have hyphens (-) between components in a compound word to create a kind of boundaries as you said. You can see a sample here

But the hyphens got dropped out gradually over time to save time and space in printing and writing, and without them people can still understand fine. So I guess you just have to learn the vocab and then you'll know where to separate.

I think Chinese learners have the same problem when they read a sentence formed by not only "one-syllable" words but "more-than-one-syllable" words. Chinese is same like Vietnamese that one word is made of several single words, for instance, 商店 , 足球球员. So, what I can offer you is to learn words in context, learn basic sentence structures and phrases, then gradually you will know how to specify those invisible borders in sentences.

Remember, in Vietnamese all single words have only one syllable. For compound words, they are made from several single words, that's why it sounds like they have multiple syllables.
