Useful websites (for beginners, but even more for intermediate and advanced learners): http://www.mein-deutschbuch.de/ http://www.udoklinger.de/Deutsch/Grammatik/inhalt.htm http://canoo.net/ http://www.duden.de/ http://de.pons.com/ http://www.linguee.de/deutsch-englisch There are probably courses for beginners somewhere if you google a bit.

On the website www.lingQ.com you can register as a free member and find a huge amount of podcasts with transcripts for beginners of German as well as for the intermediate and advanced levels later on.

You can go to a Goethe institute nearby as its certificate is internationally valid. It's a bit costly for learning German language but it will definitely give you a good base.
