Defining your goal better might help you form a plan better. Also, defining what is possible for you may help. Let me give you a few ideas. If you want a quick start on SPEAKING, then look for Pimsleur's Korean. There are two levels. You practice 1 or 2 times/day, probably go through each lesson 2 or 3 times, and you develop a very natural accent as you do it. However; it ONLY teaches speaking/listening - it does not teach any literacy. If you want a little bit of literacy, then TalkToMeInKorean.com begins to teach it along with the audio. The problems with TalkToMeInKorean.com is that they do not give much practice to supplement what they teach, and it can be a little bit hard to listen to the two presenters. (I find all the giggling to be a little bit annoying if I'm trying to study seriously). In order to get more supplemental work, there is bookwork, but I found it to be difficult to get a sample good enough to let me know if it was worthwhile to spend my money on the course, so I didn't. For more academic work on your own, you might look on the internet for Seogang University's Korean course. There are 6 levels. After level 3, if you do it right, you should be able to read newspapers. The problem with this approach is that you may need to have a teacher, or a good language partner in order to get enough speaking practice. If you have the means, look at the universities in Korea for their immersion classes. These are very good IF (and only if) you get in a class with people who are serious about learning. If you get in a class of people who have failed the class 3 times, it can be frustrating. You can talk to the university about the class when you apply and when you start, and they are usually helpful to match you with your goals. The format is great as everything is spoken in Korean from the first day. Hopefully, this is helpful to get you started.
