Question for Arabic speakers: Are all the "Bedouin dialects" the same or are they different? In the West, we call everyone who lives in the desert "the Bedouin", whether they live in Sinai, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi, Yemen, or other countries. Do all these people in different places share the same dialect? Or are they different as other dialects are to each other? In other words, do the Bedouin in Yemen speak the same dialect as the Bedouin in Jordan? شكرا

Salam, I think the Bedouin in Saudi Arabia speak a fairly similar dialect as the Bedouin in Syria and Jordan. But in North Africa, especially in the Western Sahara and Mauritania, the nomads usually speak the Hassani dialect which used to be widely spoken in some parts of Yemen. In my opinion, MSA speakers should have no problem understanding those dialects, because they are fairly close to each others.
