ّخَيْرُ الكَلامِ مَا قَلَّ ودَل khayru'lkalami ma qalla wa dalla "The best speech is little and indicative" ْإذا عُرِفَ السَّبَبْ بَطُلَ العَجَب itha 'ourifa assabab batoula al'ajab "When the reason is known, there will be no more wonder." إذَا كَانَ الكَلامُ مِنْ فِضَّة فَالسّكُوتُ مِنْ ذَهَبْ itha kan al'kalamu min fidha fa'ssoukoutou min tha'hab "If talk is silver then silence is gold." إذَا لَمْ تَسْتَحِ فأفْعَلْ مَا شِئْت itha lam tastahi faf'al ma chi'et "If you have no shame then do whatever you want." ْاصْبِرْ تَنَل isber tanal ''Have patience and you'll get what you want.''

افْتَحْ فَمَكَ فَقَطْ إذَا كَان مَا سَتَقُولهُ أجمَل مِنَ الصَّمْت iftah famaka faqat itha kana ma sa taqoulouhou ajmal mina'ssamt "Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence" عَقْلك فِي رَاسك تَعْرَفْ خلَاصَكْ aqlak fi rassak ta'araf khalassak "You have your own mind, do as you please" احْذَرْ عَدُوّكَ مَرّة وصَدِيقَك ألْفَ مَرّة، فَإِنْ انْقَلَبَ الصّدِيقْ فَهُوَ أعْلَمُ بِالمَضَرّة ihthar 'adouwak marra wa sadiqak alfa marra, fa in inqalaba assadiq fahwa a'alam bil madharra. “Be wary around your enemy once, and your friend a thousand times. A double crossing friend knows more about what harms you.” إصْلاَحُ المَوْجُودِ خَيْرٌ مِن انْتظَارِ المَفْقُود islah al mawjoud khayrun min intidhar al mafqud “It’s better to fix what you have than wait to get what you don’t have.” ِالأفْعَالُ أبْلَغ مِنَ الأقْوَال al afa'al ablagh mina'l'aqwal “Actions speak louder than words.” ُتَجْرِي الرِّيَاحُ بِمَا لا تَشْتَهِي السّفُن tajri arriyah bima la tachtahi assoufounu “Winds blow counter to what the ship wants.” ( You don’t always get everything your way. )

ِأَضْيَقُ الأمْرِ أدْنَاهُ مِنَ الفَرَج adhyaqou'l'amri adnahou mina'l'faraji "The hardest the problem is the closer it is to be solved." ْأوْهَنُ مِنْ بيْتِ العَنْكَبُوت awhanu min bayti'l'ankabut "More vulnerable than a spider's web." إذَا تَمَّ العَقْلُ نَقُصَ الكَلَام itha tamma l'aqlu naqussa al kalam "When mind matures the talk becomes less" العِلْمُ في الصِّغَرْ كَالنّقْشِ علَى الحَجَرْ al ilmu fi'ssigar ka'nnaqchi ala l'hajar "Knowledge gained in childhood is like an engraved stone " العِلْمُ يُؤْتَى ولا يَأْتِي al ilmu yo'ta wala ya'ati "You have to approach science, it won't come to you" ِأَرَى كُلّ إنْسَانٍ يَرَى عَيْبَ غيْرِهِ ويَعْمَى عَنِ العَيْبِ الذِّي هُوَ فِيه ara kolla insanin yara 'ayba gayrihi wa ya'ama 'anil'aybi allathi hua fih "Everyone is critical of the flaws of others, but blind to their own"
