What are the cultural differences in dating between the French and the English speaking countries? I would love to know how culturally different the dating world is between france and the english speaking western countries. ie uk usa australia etc. how do males and females court eachother? and at what stage would 2 people who's been dating for a while to be considered in a relationship? of course, every individual is different... but there should be some common cultural trends and faux pas. what are these in france? and if you are dating someone from france, what are the "to dos" and what are the "dont dos"? what are relationship dynamics like in the french culture? and how do people fix problems in relationships? here in australia, people are pretty casual about dating. we are a "polite society" and courtship on the first date ranges from being respectful and shaking hands to mild flirtations to just having a laugh together. mostly, it is considered good dating policy if you are easy going etc. what about in france?

this question is to do with culturally different scripts, dynamics of relationships in couples, and family and environmental influences on how people operate in relationships in a cultural context. it's also about how people's attitudes and beliefs reflect the norms in the society they live in. I didn't really want to say all this because it makes it far too uninteresting and technical and just kind of sounds a bit boring, but its not about what someone "should" do if they want a "french/english/american/australian boyfriend/girlfriend". this isnt a dating advice question, it's more about culture just to make it clear here. this topic is interesting to me that is about it. not after dating advise here guys...
