C++ was one of my first languages. It's very powerful and useful, but I don't develop in it anymore. I learned Java when it first came out, when it was the "in" thing, and developed quite a bit with it, but soon tired of it. Then it was Perl, which I still use, but now I develop mostly in Python.

I haven't studied C++ in almost 10 years, but I would say I was 5/10 back then. I think it's a terrible language that is too difficult to learn and use correctly. I didn't study Java much, but I remember my Computer Programming professor hated it. He said that it was only used because it was in the right place at the right time, and dozens of better languages have been created since then. However, because the Internet already chose Java, it's unlikely that it will ever change the language. As for me, I loved using Python, but I don't think it ever became very popular, and I realized that programming was not for me so I switched to Engineering instead. That wasn't for me, either. Turns out languages are my biggest passion, just not computer or technical languages.
