Can Cantonese be written ? I heard that Cantonese could not really be written, is it right ? (Road signs in Hong Kong and Macao.)

Road Signs in HK are written in Traditional Chinese writing, duh. Please learn about the country of HK and Macao.

Oui , avec les caractères chinois et les caractères romains. Mais les caractères romains ne sont pas en vigueur parmi les cantonais, ceux sont utilisé par les étrangers .

It can be written but formally we won't use cantonese, like on road signs and documents. But actually we can write it out and normally people can recognize it, it is more of a local slangs and it's fun to see ariynd the neighborhoos

I think there are a few words in Cantonese that can't be written . it is only used in speaking . that is what my Cantonese teacher told me . but , o course , most of them can be written.
