Do you think this is impolite ? I am just wondering and asking the italki community.I see some students asking for help to write their assignments or to go over their CV or compositions, which are very long.I think that it's fine to ask people for free help to correct a sentence or two ,or a diary entry. But I think that it is a bit inconsiderate to ask a person in his free time to correct a very long piece of writing or a long article.I often click on something that someone wrote and when I see it is very long I get discouraged and don't correct it. I think that if people want me to help them on a long piece of writing they should at least pay me for my time. What do the rest of you feel?Do you offer to correct long pieces of writing?

Yes, it's a bit of a cheek. If you have a particular relationship with a learner, then you might check a longer piece as a one-off favour. But certainly if it's something high stakes, such as a CV or study assignment, you would feel duty bound to give a professional service. And as such, the learners should expect to pay a professional's fee. Anything else is pure chutzpah, as they say ;)

I prefer short pieces, but if it was written by one of my language partners,it´s different.
