Useful resources for Russians wanting to learn English? Sometimes I get asked by Russians how best to learn English. Of course I have no idea other than to be born here in England! :-) I can give some general language learning advice and resources, but nothing specifically for Russians learning English. Perhaps you could give me some recommendations, especially for those who are total beginners and don't know any English words at all.

BBC 4, YouTube, Stitcher (IOS application with loads of radiopodcasts available online), sharedtalk.com, Skype, TuneIn radios. Oxford bookworm library and Penguin readers published special series of books which were number one for me when I started learning. The books allow you to go through some famous stories like Three men in a boat, but available in six grammar levels. If a learner is beginner then I'd advise to attend nearest language school. Human teachers are still the best way to study everything.
