Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I love to be "free". Teaching is a great way for independent people like me. I can plan my lesson as I want to, I can adapt my teaching to my students' needs. Although you have a lesson plan to follow and a timetable too - teaching still gives me freedom in what I do. Moreover, I constantly learn new things every and every day. I never use the same sheets twice - I try to make them better each time. I love to see the progress of my students and of myself.

When I finished school (many years ago) I was totally uninterested in teaching and, for 30 years, followed an alternative career. Then, about ten years ago I decided that I wanted to do something that felt more 'fulfilling' with an idea of teaching voluntarily overseas. So...I did the TEFL course and was totally HOOKED...! I love meeting new people and helping them progress with their English...which to me is such an important issue for so many people. I love grappling with grammar and fretting about phrasal verbs and mulling over modals...it's FUN :)

to be a teacher is a hard work. Teachers are motivators for students.
