French tone I 've been told that French interrogative sentence with "comment, quand, quel, combien etc" should be spoken in a falling tone, like in "Quelle heure est il?"., but in "Quelle est votre profession?" , it is spoken in a rising tone. So how is the tone working? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the type of question. Yes/No questions have a rising tone, but "information questions" that start with a question word (qui, quand, pourquoi...) will rise on the question word, then fall at the end of the sentence. An interrogative sentence is always with a rising tone. "Quel est ton problème" could be spoken normally, with an interrogative tone or with an exclamative tone. If the tone is not interrogative, then the person that listen to you wouldn't consider it as a question. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iScJbcCa6Fs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAIvjJdhWG4
