Translating some movie lines.... 你好!! I need help translating some lines from the movie "Raise The Red Lantern" "Let me be a concubine." "Isn't that a woman's fate?" This movie is old, and though I could clearly see the English subtitles, I could not see the Chinese characters for what the person was saying at the time. This is an odd thing to ask, I know, but it's for a project, heh. Thank you!!!

"Let me be a concubine." 让我做一个小妾。 "Isn't that a woman's fate?" 这不是一个女人的命运吗?

Let me be a concubine.(让我做姨太吧)我看过这个电影,如果是皇上(emperor)的话,then concubine can translate into 妾,妃子,but in this movie the old man is just landlord,so it means 姨太 or 小的(in oral way) "Isn't that a woman's fate?" 这难道就是女人的命吗? I think you can watch the movie of Chinese version
