yes, but you can also say "Przestraszyłam się czesząc włosy" heheheh ^_^
anyway, for somebody who just started to learn is enough to know that sometimes "się" can be before the verb but if you'll put it after the verb it should be in most cases good ^_^

Particle "się" should be put after the verb.
For example...
Anna zobaczyła się w lustrze. ( Anna saw herself in the mirror.)

Yes, but can be also before, it depends. If we use 'się' as a accusativ (the sentence given by Jagoda) - Anna saw (who? what? Acc.) się <siebie>, than always after the verb, but 'Before I realized that...' 'Zanim zorientowałam się, że..' can be also 'Zanim się zorientowałam, że...'.
And when in the sentences the verb is on the end (like in "Czesząc włosy się przestraszyłam) then "się" should be before verb, but don't care so much about that, because some polish people don't care about that too :P.
