can someone translate this short sentence... ...and explain the grammar? トレーラーは右へ曲がろうとしています。 Especially the 曲がろうとしています。 Thanks! Mark.I should say that I generally understand that a trailer truck is turnjng to the right, but I'm confused as to the use of the ろう form of the verb. My guess is that plus と = intention. Or "appears to be." ???

The sentence means "the trailer is trying to turn to the right." The construction verb stem + う/よう + としている generally means "trying to VERB."
