Irish: The Words Socraigh and Uisceadán / Umar Éisc Can I use the word socraigh to mean to set up an aquarium/fish tank. That is, to dump a bag of stones into the bottom of the tank, add my plants and other tank ornaments like sunken ships, caves, etc , and also put the filter in and fill the tank? Ba mhaith liom an umar éisc/uisceadán a shocrú anocht. =?? I'd like to set up the fish tank/aquarium tonight.

You could use "socraigh", but I'd prefer "feistigh" or "cuir i bhfearas". "Umar éisc" and "uisceadán" are equivalent to "fish tank" and "aquarium" respectively, you can use whichever one you prefer. "Ba mhaith liom an t-umar éisc/an t-uisceadán a fheistiú/a chur i bhfearas."
