How can I say "same level of things" How can I say "same level of things" when referring to Arkansas, Illinois, and Kentucky. P.S. I know they are the name of several States in the U.S. but let me know how to refer to several things that are in the same level. Here, the examples of "same level" are country or States, the concepts when we categorize things. Specifically, Canada and New York are at the different level since Canada and Australia are countries, and New York and Virginia are States Thanks a lot :)

Consider the word "status". However, choice would often depend on context. I mean, in your example, "political status" works, but if comparing another aspect, other words might be more appropriate.
