How did you become a freelance translator / interpreter? It interests me how do translators/interpreters/freelancers join the business. Where do you start? How do you use languages professionaly?

If you want to either translate or interpret professionally, then you need to know your languages very well, and I would suggest that you find a niche for your skills. If you are confident enough, then why not try tutoring here in italki and / or offering tutoring in your local area.
