pronoun "they" for the word "class" Hi everybody, I have a new doubt today. Is the pronoun "they" suitable in the following short answer? - Will your class have an English test next week? Yes, THEY will. I would use IT instead, but can't the word "class" be seen as a collective word? Thank you for your help!Thank you Paul and Sudin. Is IT instead of THEY acceptable then?

Yes, THEY is a better answer in this case, because "class" here refers to the group of students.

They is the correct pronoun to use, you are referring to your class as a group or plural, so THEY are having a test...
