"for your information" I have used this phrase many times. Does it sound strong or rude? Is it okay to use it both in a business context and in an everyday conversation?

"For your information" can come off as rude sometimes but not always. This is difficult to explain because it depends on your tone and the context. In most cases, you only want to use this phrase if the information you are giving is not extremely important for that person to know, but you want to give them the information just in case. If you are talking to co-workers, you can use the abbreviated version "FYI." You can also add the word "just" before "FYI" to make it sound more casual. EXAMPLES: 1) "My meeting has been postponed to Tuesday. Just FYI." 2) "Just FYI, I will be on vacation next week. You can send me an email if you need to contact me." Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
