Двенадцать стульев Many people have recommended me to watch "Двенадцать стульев" and now I did, but I noticed, that there are many adaptions of the book. I watched the one from 1971 with Арчил Гомиашвили as Остап Бендер, but I would like to know, which one is the most popular in Russia, this one, or another one? Is there something like THE best adaption? And another question: should I read and/or watch Золотой телёнок, or is this just one of those second parts that should better have been left unwritten?

I prefer the version from 1971, the second seems to be dull. It is a matter of one's taste, of course. Золотой телёнок is not just the "second part" and is a good book itself. As I am more fond of reading books than wathching films, I have no clue which version is better. I am not sure if I have seen any at all :/ Wilkommen zurück!

I like this one: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_%D1%81%D1%82%D1%83%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%B5%D0%B2_(%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BC,_1976) One of the best actor duet is in this version. I think this version: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_%D1%81%D1%82%D1%83%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%B5%D0%B2_(%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BC,_1971) is more vulgar.
