Articles and Classification Sentences In Dutch Do I need to use the indefinite article with classification sentences? For instance, in American English, we do... Hence, 1. He is a teacher. And 2. He is a good teacher. Should 1 be "Hij is leraar." or "Hij is een leraar."? Perhaps the indefinite article is only used when an adjective like " good" modifies the noun which somebody is???

Men zegt gewoon: 1. Hij is leraar. of: Hij is leraar van beroep. / Hij is van beroep leraar. 2. Hij is een goede leraar. (Dus in dit geval moet je wel het onbepaalde lidwoord gebruiken).
