Wypić versus napić się There are 2 forms of the perfective for "pić", wypić versus napić się. Are they interchangeable or is one used in different circumstances from the other? For example, if I were to tell someone to drink something, I can say "Proszę, to wypić." Can I also say Proszę, to się napić." ?

Wypić indicates that you're going to drink the whole glass/bottle/etc. whereas napić się doesn't give that information, it can be either one sip or the whole container. In most situations they can be used interchangeably. A good example for wypić is a medicine - you have to drink all of it. Can you see the difference in the meaning of your examples?

You can say: Proszę to wypić. and Proszę się tego napić. The meaning is the same.
