Well, we don't say "J'enveloppe un cadeau". We use the verb "emballer" instead.
=> J'emballe un cadeau dans DU papier d'emballage / papier cadeau. (the wrapping paper I chose isn't important, nobody cares about it. Same thing about the present. We're talking in general.)
OR
=> J'emballe LE cadeau dans LE papier d'emballage / papier cadeau. (In this case, I'm talking about THIS present and THIS wrapping paper, which are right in front of me.)
J'enlève LE papier d'emballage de mon cadeau. = CORRECT.
OR
Je sors mon cadeau DU papier d'emballage. =
Je sors MON cadeau de son papier d'emballage.
