water shafts?? Right in front of him there was a lovely garden decorated with multi-coloured flowers, and full of small animals. A water-fall with a deep descent formed a long river with water shafts. On the left, he could see a mountain with a snow-covered peak. On the right, dolphins jumped in crystal green waters on the shore of a golden sandy beach. I would like to know what does " water shafts" mean. Thanks.

It's quite a poetic use of language - not a phrase you'd hear every day. It means that the water is coming down in a noticeably vertical way, perhaps like columns/pillars. I hope this helps :)
