Pronunciation of "hanımefendi"? So I just started the Turkish course on Mango Languages, and in the course "hanımefendi" changes pronunciation. When in a sentence, instead of being pronounced as it's spelled, it's pronounced "HUNfandee". Does this actually happen to the pronunciation or is it just the course? If this actually happens, what are some other examples of odd pronunciations to take note of?

"Beyefendi(Gentleman) is another example of that. We drop "e" while pronouncing it. Of course we never write it as "hanfendi" or "beyfendi."

Yo can say "hanımefendi" too. It's formal way to tell it. You can say "hanfendi" also. It's litlle casual. But we havent more words look like it, also isn't important to improve your Turkish, in my opinion.

Thanks, I understand now why it asks about my library.

It's a language learning website/mobile app. My local library has a subscription to it, so I can use it for free. :) https://www.mangolanguages.com/ I wouldn't use it if my library didn't have it, though, as it's a bit pricey.
