もらいに求めている Can I say "strive to get" like this? If no, when this construction can be used except に行くand when not?

Though I'm not very sure for my English, I think "strive to get" means 手に入れようと努力する[てにいれようとどりょくする] if it means like "try to get". I didn't get other question. However, we don't say もらいに求めている, it doesn't make sense. (The meaning which is close to it, "want to receive" = もらいたい、"want to get" = 手に入れたい) I hope this was helpful and please wait for the better answers.
