In England, what do you fumble with when you are nervous? In England, what do you fumble with when you are nervous? A few days ago, on a BBC talk show, my friend heard the expression about it, but he had forgotten that. I'm really wondering about that. : ) If you should know about it, please let me know it. Please help me! Thanks!

Hi. :) The prayer beads are called a rosary. I'm not sure if it's a common phrase, but yes 'fumbling with your rosary' would mean that you are nervous, or in doubt about something. Hope that helps.
