i cant understand the words here the language barrier presents itself in stark form to firms who wish to market their products in other countries. what is the meaning of present here?can anyone tell me several commonly used meaning of this word?better if examples given. and what does stark here mean?

The example for present is a classroom situation. The teacher marks the student as here at school or not here. Others words present or not present. Were you present at work or school? The language barrier is there/here. In stark form..... I looked in the dictionary and it says that it's "very clear and plain to look at". Hope this helps :-/
