Robert
No entiendo. Significa algo como: on the one hand I have to look for work and on the other, because I have to look for work, this leaves me with little time? Él dice algo como: I hope that you will/would understand me and that you would show support to her (pero con "show support" digo "agree to his wish to deal with her?) gracias

Regarding the first sentence, yes, that is what he means. "Estoy en un lado y otro" means something like "I have to walk down everywhere in order to look for a job". Espero que me entiendan sounds better, as you pointed it out. He meant something like "I hope you can understand my situation and deal this situation with her because I'm not avalaible to adress you from now on". I hope it helps. I'm not good at translating from Spanish into English.

Estoy en un lado y en otro means that he is moving a lot to try to find a new job, that he doen't stop and has few time left for other things. "espero y me entiendan y le brinden apoyo a ella" It is a very, very formal way not used in spoken Spanish, just when writting a letter like this one. It sounds even like ancient spanish. But you could also say "espero que me entiendan" and it is totally ok
