Should I use さん or ちゃん if I am adressing someone I want to be casual with? I have to write a letter to someone I am going to put up. So I need to be casual and not too formal but I don't think I can use ちゃん because it's probably too casual... What should I do?

Firts, the culture japanes is very respectful, and they only use "chan" whit someone who has a lot confidence, as chilhood friends or family, so although was casual convertation usually they use de honorific "San". I hop this infomation hepls you, and sorry I practice my english xD
